The Indelibility of Markings proficiency scheme consists on the determination of marking indelibility into plastic parts, with any accredited laboratories or in accreditation processbeing eligible to participate.
The participants must test the testing items with internal procedures of each laboratory to marking indelibility, utilizing water and aliphatic hexane, determining if the marking continues to be readable, making a qualitative evaluation after testing the item, expecting the indication of readable or unreadable. The participant must accomplish the test as its internal procedure to marking indelibility, using water and aliphatic hexane.
This is one of CGCRE's program, organized and constant at SCT de Instalações Elétricas e Baixa Tensão da CT08 (Eletronics Technical Committee of CGCRE), also this program meets the requirements of NIE CGCRE 045's standard.
The use of Qualabor's provider is exclusively for comparisons and chosen by SCT de Instalações Elétricas e Baixa Tensão da CT08. The usage of Qualabor does not ensure the acceptance of that provider as a constant proficiency testing provider of CGCRE.
Equipment required on this test: Water, aliphatic solvent hexane with a content of aromatics of maximum 0,1% by volume, a kauributanol value of 29, an initial boiling-point of approximately 69°C and a density of approximately 0,68 g/cm³, cotton gauze, chronometer, cylindrical tip device of any material to fix the gauze, automatic or manual device to apply a strength of 750 +/- 50g, with 1 friction per second. The picture below illustrates the cylindrical tip in millimetres:

EPTIS helps you find a suitable proficiency testing (PT) scheme for your laboratory (a PT scheme is a coherent series of single rounds). For a large number of schemes we have produced data sheets and collected them in the EPTIS database. What is not included in the database is topical information on next PT rounds. When is the next round, and what is the matrix material this time? This information is too dynamic as to be included in the database. But you can find such details for a selection of schemes in our PT calendar.
At present, a listing on the database is only open to PT providers from countries that are covered by our so-called coordinators. They check the plausibility of the data sheet submissions and decide on their publication. They speak the language and are ideally familiar with local PT providers and cultural peculiarities. This helps to safeguard a reasonable level of database quality. There is no cost for PT providers who follow this basic mechanism.
